Functional tremor causes physically rapid and involuntary shaking, often the hands.

With functional tremor, it will tend to get worse at particular times or different environments.

It is caused by the functioning of the brain - it is thinking incorrectly - rather than a physical abnormality in the brain.

This means that the brain can be retrained to think correctly and to reduce the tremors.

Diagnosis for Functional Tremor Treatment

Functional tremor is often incorrectly diagnosed.

It cannot be detected by blood tests or physical scans, so diagnosis has to be based on behavioural symptoms.
