What is PTSD

Unfortunately, the scientific understanding of PTSD is still very limited.

The EMLI event typically triggers high frequency brain waves.

Those brain waves cause chemical changes to happen in areas of the brain such as the amygdala.

The amygdala is part of the lymbic system.

The amygdala appears to hold emotional responses, which are seperate from memories relating to facts and events.

It's often referred to as the security guard of the brain.

In PTSD, the amygdala is trying to keep you safe, but probably creating a lot of other difficulties at the same time.

Using the right therapies, that emotional response can change.

You can feel better again.
