What is anxiety?

Anxiety can be confusing, because it often doesn't come from our conscious mind.

It can lead to excessive nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worry.

It can trigger powerful fear responses in the body, before your logical mind has even started to assess the situation.

While mild anxiety can be vague and unsettling, severe anxiety can seriously affect day-to-day living.

A surprising percentage of people suffer from anxiety.

What are symptoms of anxiety?

Similar to drinking a large amount of coffee, the fear response can cause sweating, trembling, increased heart rate and shortness of breath.

It may also cause problems with concentration and sleep (insomnia), and stomach and bladder issues.

Often, the cause of the anxiety is unknown, but the subconscious mind will have found reasons to raise the concern.

What are anxiety panic attacks?

In some cases, high levels of anxiety can trigger overwhelming panic attacks.

Panic attacks can last for up to thirty minutes, but feelings will return to normal and things will be OK.

Panic attacks can be reduced by changing the triggers and levels of anxiety in the primal mind.

Anxiety Test - NHS Anxiety Assessment

The NHS uses the Generalised Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) to assess and monitor the severity of a person's anxiety.

Our clients are given free access to GAD-7 assessments, to regularly monitor their anxiety levels and to measure their improvements.
