Females may also experience these additional IBS symptoms.

1) Pelvic Pain

Pain that may overlap conditions like endometriosis or menstrual cramps.

2) Menstrual Cycle Impact

IBS symptoms female patients experience may be worse during menstruation, linked to to estrogen and progesterone hormonal fluctuations, which can influence gastrointestinal motility (movements) and sensitivity (pain).

3) Pregnancy

IBS symptoms may change, for better or worse, during pregnancy, due to hormonal changes.

4) Menopause

Likewise, post-menopausal women might see changes in their IBS symptoms.

5) Active Brains

Many females find that IBS and IBS flare ups are linked to being busy, stressed or anxiety.

IBS symptoms are often triggered by messages from an alert brain.

This is why IBS hypnotherapy can be highly effective at providing long term relief.
