"Eat, Fast and Live Longer.
Five days of the week are normal eating days, while the other two restrict calories to 500–600 per day.
The NHS recommend caution.
The 5:2 diet is based on the 2-Day Diet by Michelle Harvie Tony Howell, which is the original,
clinically proven intermittent diet.
Unlike other 5:2 diets, there’s no calorie counting, fasting or skipping meals.
People simply follow the low-carb, low-sugar plan for two days a week,
then for the rest of the week eat normally but sensibly with the help of the healthy eating guidelines.
